The Shameful anti-Polygamy Raid in Texas
I’ve taken a lot of heat on various blogs for speaking out against the disgusting raid the state of Texas carried out on the YFZ ranch in Eldorado.
Guess what? I’m not even through.
The raid violated so many constitutional rights of the FLDS I bet the trial lawyers are salivating over the lawsuits they’re going to file when this debacle is over. Putting 400+ children in protective custody based on false information from some crazy crank who had nothing to do with the FLDS in the first place is wrong and perverse.
If you’re interested check out this website. I have nothing in common with the FLDS and their religious beliefs but everything in common with their desire to not be persecuted by the state.
I’m entirely and exactly with you. It’s a national shame that there are so very few of us who are willing to speak out for the weakest, smallest and most reviled groups in our society. I can not STAND to live in a country where Hugh Hefner is treated like an elder statesman while FLDS families are treated like the plague.
