More Lies from the State of Texas

The lies from Texas Child Protective Services (CPS) about the FLDS just do not quit.

Remember CPS saying they had several “pregnant teenagers” in custody after their heavy-handed raid on the YFZ rand in Eldorado? Well it turns out that, like everything else CPS has said, is a lie.

The FLDS woman who gave birth is an adult and even through her birth certificate shows that she is an adult she’s still being held by CPS as a minor. How many more lies are the Texas Gestapo going to have exposed before they admit the entire raid was wrong? The raid was predicated on false evidence, carried our fraudulently and in violation of due process and the aftermath has been no better.

Now mental health professionals are speaking out against the treatment of FLDS mothers and children by CPS - kids experiencing diaharrea from eating bad food, kids with upper-respitory infections caused by the cramped and terrible conditions they were forced into when they were yanked away from their mothers - the list goes on and on.

Here’s what some of those workers had to say about the way the children and mothers were being treated by Texas CPS. Remember, these are workers for the state of Texas, not FLDS women:

A boy estimated at age 3 walked along a row of cots asking for someone to rock him after he was separated from his mother, one employee wrote. Two CPS worker trailed the youngster taking notes but not helping him. His brother, age 8, eventually took the child into his arms and sat with him in a rocking chair.

“That little boy will always be in my mind,” the employee wrote. “How can a beautiful, healthy child be taken from a healthy, loving home and forced into a situation like that, right here in America, right here in Texas?”

Mothers who initially were allowed to stay with their children were later required to leave if their child was older than 12 months. Describing that day, one employee wrote, “the floor was literally slick with tears in places.”

It’s the same old song but I’ll never get tired of singing it: The raid on the FLDS by Texas CPS is an egregious violation of these people’s constitutional rights and the state of Texas is going to pay a heavy price for its actions.
